About the event

Healing is not one size fits all.

Come to our Ayurveda Dosha Balancing Workshop with resident Ayurvedic consultant and Thai medicine practitioner Marisa Incelli. Find out your particular individual elemental make up, how it tends to go out of balance and how to balance it. This means balancing your nervous system, digestive system, lymphatic system and earth structures of bone, fascial lines, and muscle. This is your opportunity to learn your own unique framework from which to understand what movement, breath and nutritional practices suit your particular make up and imbalances.

When Vata is out of balance, slow movements are used, with longer holds in a warm (not too hot, not too cold) environment. Thai adjustments will include movements that ground the energy, and hold. Think of the practitioner as the vessel and the vata client as the contents.

When Pitta is out of balance, short bursts of energetic movement, followed by longer restorative postures are used. Thai adjustments include introducing cooling harmonics and soft undulation to the body in order to engender an overall softening of Pitta's pattern of control.

When Kapha is out of balance, longer bursts of intense physical activity are used to bring heat and dry out the muddiness that can weigh kapha down. Thai adjustments focus on agitating and stretching, rocking motions, and long holds with stretching components. This is not a sedating adjustment, but rather a stimulating one.

What is Thai massage? It is a fully clothed, close proximity massage using differing techniques of touch depending on the current state of imbalance. It is a five element based massage drawing from applications embodying earth, water, fire, wind and space/consciousness. You will leave feeling balanced and centered, for some that may mean invigorated while for others it may mean grounded, this is an individual application of your specific needs.

Want to know more ? Feel free to schedule a call or book a free consultation with Marisa on Fridays, when she is in-house.

Marisa has been working with individuals through yoga teaching, breath work modalities, meditation and Thai massage for over 15 years. She is drawn to being a catalyst, a vessel, and a soft hand caring for one heart at a time so that they might each find their own inner healer.
