About the event

Dosha specific movement classes offering movement with Justin Marx. Justin has over 20 years of martial arts, yoga, vibrational healing, and tai chi training and teaching. Experience specific movement to balance your imbalances followed by vibrational sound healing  while Marisa gives dosha specific balancing Thai massage to your physical body.

What is Thai massage? It is a fully clothed, close proximity massage using differing techniques of touch depending on the current state of imbalance. It is a five element based massage drawing from applications embodying earth, water, fire, wind and space/ consciousness.

You will leave feeling balanced and centered, for some that may mean invigorated while for others it may mena grounded, this is an individual application of your specific needs.

Vata balancing class and Thai adjustments will focus on drawing vata energy towards their center and down. When Vata is out of balance  what is required are slow movements, longer holds in a warm ( not too hot, not too cold) environment. Thai adjustments will be things that ground the energy, and hold, think of the practitioner as the vessel and the vata client as the contents. Adjustments are slow, and calming to the nervous system, which vata governs.

Pitta balancing class and Thai adjustments will focus on softening pitta's fire energy with cooling water. When Pitta is out of balance short bursts of energetic movememnt followed by longer restorative postures is what is called for. Thai adjustments focus on introducing cooling harmonics, soft undulation to the body to engender an overall softening to Pitta's determined compartmentalizing and and pattern of control.

Kapha balancing class and Thai adjustments will focus on stimulating kapha's slower, cooler, damper nature with fire. Kapha requires longer bursts of intense physical activity to bring heat to dry out the muddy ness that can weigh kapha down. Think hot vinyasa, inversions and repetitions to create heat. Thai adjustments focus on agitating and stretching, rocking motions, long holds with stretching components, it is not a sedating adjustment but rather a stimulating one.
