Thai Massage has become an increasingly popular healing modality all around the world. Yet, to fully tap into its potential, power and effectiveness one needs to understand and apply it within the context of the medicinal system it came from- Traditional Thai Medicine.

Thai Massage is part of one of the five roots/sciences that make Traditional Thai Medicine. These sciences are:

 

•    Medical Sciences

•    Orthopedic Sciences

•    Oracular Sciences

•    Magic Sciences

•    Buddhist Sciences

 

These Sciences are weaved together by Buddhist principles and Element theory creating a unique, comprehensive system of healing wisdom.

 

As a natural medicine, it uses the Thai Element theory to understand individuality and diagnose imbalances. As a spiritual practice it incorporates Buddhist principles and practices such as of Vipassana (insight) and the Four Brahamaviharas (Divine states of Mind)- Metta, Karuna, Mudita, Uppekha (loving kindness, compassion, sympathetic joy, equanimity).  ​

 

Powerful stretches and deep acupressure are applied carefully along as a fluid mindful dance creating a relaxed supported body work that allows a profound sense of space and relaxation, congruence, alignment and therapeutic results

What does your tuition pay for ?

6 Daily classes of elemental movement, breathwork, meditation,  and  6 hours of daily Thai massage practice

waking until -10:00am- Mouna practice ( silence practice)

8:00-9:00am- physical movement practice to give  the bodyworker's body self care different modalities  accessible to all levels : vinyasa yoga, tai chi, Reusi dat ton (thai yoga), elemental embodiment practices, elemental meditation and breath practices 

9:00- 10:00am - Breakfast

10:00- 1:00pm - Bodywork with Sebastian 

1:00-3:00pm - Lunch Break

3:00- 6:00pm- Bodywork with Sebastian

What will it feel like ?

Arrival on September 6th for class beginning at 8am, plan to arrive in Philly at your airbnb or hotel the night before to be ready, the first day is a full day. 

Center City Breathe is located at :

1425 Federal St, Philadelphia, PA 19146 

Look for the orange door, it's to the right of the massive Zen Ben mural on Federal St.

Parking is on street parking and it is conveniently located one block from an organic whole grocer called Sprouts with good lunch options.

The venue is in South Philly and a short Uber ride from Center City where it is recommended that you stay. Local hotels and Airbnb accommodations in the Rittenhouse, Old City and Center City sections of the city are safe and where the hub of activity lies in Philly. As a Philly native feel free to reach out to me with questions, I’ll help as needed.

Though Center City Breathe is 20 minute walk from Center City maybe, 30 from Old City, it is a five minute uber ride. As most cities, the nightlife is rich and shopping abounds. Make sure you feel at home in the space you choose. Locust, Pine, Walnut are the main streets to look for Airbnb spots.

In your free time local to the venue there are small restaurants and organic groceries for lunch.
